MEDIAEVAL CATHOLIC SCHOLARSHIP

Foundations, Flowering, & Fall
This year’s Catholic History Day spans a huge period, from the very beginnings of the mediaeval Catholic synthesis, to its ap-parent dissolution at the Reformation. The distinctive contributions of Catholic schol-ars, from the far-off Christian East to the Celtic fringe, and from archbishops to par-ish clergy, form a rich tapestry. Today we will have an opportunity to view it from several widely separated vantage points.
